From Avenues: The World School

Avenues: The World School was founded with the vision to establish one school with many campuses that are intentionally connected and located in key global cities. Avenues is one highly integrated learning community, supported by a common mission, shared curriculum—including language immersion—world-class technology, and a headquarters team in New York City. Avenues is helping define a new category of school—a world school.

Avenues’ first N–12 campus opened in 2012 in NYC and the second campus will open in São Paulo, Brazil, this August. Avenues is actively pursuing campus development around the world.

Avenues: The World School Reviews

It has been an amazing experience! I came in from public school in the suburbs. The school is located in the center of Chelsea. This is incredibly useful for art classes, as they do not exist solely within the class room. They have amazing study abroad programs as well. I went on a two week trip to New Zealand to do scientific research, attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, and went to SXSW as a credited press journalist with my student publication. The teachers do not have closed work spaces so they are always available for conversation. The academics are all all discussion based. All classrooms have circular tables, so no one can hide in the back. This also makes the teacher a member of the class, and not a superior figure who stands tall and above students.

Avenues is truly a place where great minds are curated. Although being a new school can at times lead to problems with organization, overall it provides an amazing education. There are passionate teachers, nearly unlimited resources at our disposal, and stunning facilities. At Avenues we are taught to think from a global perspective and are given the support and rigorous course loads to truly succeed.
Avenues education is one of the top the city has to offer. We are filled with discussion based learning and teachers who make us question beyond our comfort zones. The work can be rigorous depending on classes you take, but the overall facility is state of the art
