Avail offers well-rounded Christian education from teachers that care about you beyond classroom doors. I was able to connect with the whole student body by being a part of the worship team, the chapel planning committee, and the National Honors Society. Athletics are also a fantastic way to connect with people. I had a fantastic experience and appreciated the small-sized classes. The teachers are flexible and willing to help and they want to see me succeed and grow in all I do, not just my academics.
The teachers are amazing and I love the classes a ton. There a lot of friction between the students and the administration though. The small size of the school can be taken either as a plus or a minus. The community is tight-knit and fun, but also can get toxic really fast. Over all though, I like it.
We toured a handful of local Christian schools, charter schools and public schools. We chose Avail because of the authentic community (talk the talk AND walk the walk), and because of the way that learning connects with the real world. It was SO cool, to us, that students were serving out in the community weekly at the high school, and regularly at all grade levels. We have been there for three years (even through the pandemic) and we STILL love it there and are so thankful our kids are learning and growing in this amazing place.
