Austin High School is a community-based school where everyone knows everyone. Most of the students and alumni have known their fellow classmates their whole life and if not they have at least seen them around. The teachers and other staff are open to help with whatever it is asked of them. They are welcoming and open-minded, everyone is accepted in this community. Austin High School is composed of many different races Hispanic and African American to name some. This diversity is the best I have ever seen compared to other schools in the area. Everyone gets along well and the school spirit is pretty competitive with other schools.

Austin is a diverse school we see people come from all over the world since we do get many military students. We get to embrace our culture here without offending anybody or disrespecting another culture. Our campus feels secure and the administration cares about their student, their futures, and how they can make a difference and make the high school experience better or easier. Transitioning from middle to high school was made easy by the environment the school provided they made it known that they were there to help with the change.
My overall experience at Austin High School was overall decent. I was part of the JROTC Program for the entire 4 years I was there and I truly enjoyed it. The faculty truly cares about their students. The football games at Austin High School are very popular and the public has the tendency to go and enjoy the game. I have been a witness to knowing two students who went to MIT and Caltech right after graduating, due to their insane Math skills and the excellent support by the faculty, so that tells you something about the STEM approach this school has. Austin High School is a great school to attend since the school has a very rich history and the view of the Franklin mountains is just spectacular. Good school. Amazing history. Caring teachers (for the most part).
