Augustine Christian Academy is a school dedicated to teaching students how to learn and not just what to learn through a classical education style. It’s a smaller Christian school which allows the students to really bond with each other and build relationships and friendships that last a lifetime. Something about ACA that makes it unique is our House system. It is inspired by European boarding schools and all students from grades 9 through 12 are divided into four Houses based off of their character traits. These Houses participate in competitions in order to win and be the House of Honor for that Quarter. Houses foster leadership in students and it creates a family-like community filled with students encouraging each other academically, spiritually, and emotionally. ACA is designed to challenge students and help them grow and be prepared for all the challenges life will throw their way. As a Senior who has attended ACA for six years, I would highly recommend it to other families.
We adopted a child from DHS. He was not allowed to be homeschool or placed in private school until he was legally ours. By fifth grade, his inability to cope with overcrowd classroom, constant bullying and vulgar language spoken by his peers sunk him into a deeper depression and isolation. A friend recommended ACA to us so our son shadowed for one day. When I picked him up I saw a glow in his eyes and inquired about his day. His reply, Mommy this was the best school ever! Can I come here, please?” He repeated fifth grade to become accolade into a safe learning environment. He has flourished ever since. The staff, teachers and parents are supportive of our son. We are grateful that our son is entering into his third year at ACA. It has been an answer to our prayers.
I love the environment at Augustine Christian Academy. My favorite part is that all students of different ages get to hangout with each other. I am able to have good relationships with students my age and in middle school. I love that the school offers many opportunities to grow as a leader, and build confidence to prepare us for when we step into the real world.
