The faculty is amazing! We have been there 7 years, but this will be our last. We would have not stayed this year, but we had already signed a contract and were obligated to pay tuition. The Head of School has been there two years and has changed the culture of the staff from open and cohesive to fearful and divisive. The respected Lower School principal was fired over the summer without cause and replaced with one of the Kindergarten teachers. Long time, wonderful faculty members have resigned since she was fired. It is a different place than it was 2 years ago.
Review Augusta Preparatory Day School
I have been a part of this school for several decades, on several levels. It is an accepting, diverse, and challenging environment. The teachers are totally student focused... The kids always come first.

It is the only non-religious school in the area and you will find a variety of religions, lifestyles, and ethnicities in our Prep family. I love this about the school.

The best part of Prep: the faculty. They are incredibly dedicated to the kids. They give 110%, always. They are always well prepared, enthusiastic, engaged, funny, kind, and passionate.

Recent we have had a few instances of bullying, mainly in two classes with older kids. By and large, teachers were unaware. This is not the norm at Prep. It has been a tough few months, but new rules are already in place, as is a new awareness. Bullying is not rampant, not will it be tolerated.

Prep will continue, as it has been for a long time, to be a great education and nurturing place for the students.
The academics are great, my child was there for prek and made great progress. However there was a bully in his PREK class who never seemed to be dealt with. This summer through a string of events that included firing the lower school beloved principle, it has come to my attention that bullying is rampant and not well dealt with. Not something you find acceptable at 14000 for kindergarten.... when going to transfer my child to public school I was told I'd be stuck with the full tuition (despite withdrawing him before school began) even though our reasons were based on concerns. Very disappointed. We won't be continuing at prep.
