As a current senior in Auburn, I've lived through the hack, covid, and the disorganization this school is. Since my enterance in 2017 nothing has gotten better, students are so far apart yet so close. The entire school was turned into an elementary school and never listens to its students, staff or even parents.
Gifted and CAPA are the two programs at this school and have interacted with many students in them. Simply, these 2 programs only exist to save face for Auburn, there is no respect toward Gifted or CAPA or any student. There wasn't any respect towards the students in the 4 academies of Auburn and when they attempt to "fix" their issues they do not acknowledge the people in it.
Communication lacks severely and when students or teachers try to put in a word in they are ignored.
Students and admin should work on, but at this point students are not at fault for the disgrace admin has given Auburn.
(full review on google, I hope it's seen! Even if this is from Sept. it is accurate)

While I think that the culture, students, staff, and faculty who work here are lovely, the administration here is what I think holds Auburn back the most. From being generally incompetent and unresponsive to completely sweeping a police brutality incident against a 4'11 child under the rug, the people who run this school don't seem to care about the staff and students beyond our achievements and our test scores. I have met wonderful people in my time here who could have done so much more, had the Administration been competent and willing to give these programs some of the much-needed attention that they deserve. That being said, I still believe that there is a lot of potential hidden within the staff and students who still try their best here every single day. I hope the admins realize the full potential of the arts and sciences students here one day, and support us in a way they never did in years past.
My name is Aubrey Boettcher and I graduated from Auburn High school in 2020. There I went through the gifted program and played 3 major sports all throughout high school along with theatre, debate club and attending many sport games. The one thing I admired most from Auburn was the dedication of the teachers in the gifted program. They never failed to push me and stay countless hours after school to help me understand a topic I might have been struggling in. The teachers there truly wanted to teach and truly made me feel like I could be someone in this world. Student life was interesting, there were many fights occurring in the school, and the school appearance definitely needs an upgrade, but overall I never had much bullying and had many friends. Another thing I loved about Auburn was how diverse it was. I got to meet people with all different backgrounds and ethnicities. This was because of all the different programs there at Auburn, I truly loved my experience.
