I thought Shores was a good school. Went there from preschool through graduation. Many of the teachers (especially the ones who have been there for years) really do care for their students and are passionate about learning. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone. I have friends who disliked the "legalistic" atmosphere, but I believe thats how many kids feel when going to a Christian school. I enjoyed my time there and definitely could name several teachers who made a positive impact on me.
As far as college preparedness--high school is what you put into it in many ways and if you put the work in, you will be more than prepared for the average college education. If you bother to get involved and get to know the teachers you like, Shores can be a really lovely place.

the food's pretty great. yeah, the food is pretty darn good if i say so myself. Much better than public school. The cookies are the best thing to exist right next to Jesus. He's number one. Duh. Anyways, the Mac and Cheese is pretty dang good too, I haven't ordered it yet, but I've taken some noodles from friends WITH permission. Yeah, the wraps are the my personal favorite. In my humble opinion, you should always eat the wraps with golden Italian dressing. You know, the education is pretty spot on too. But the food man. You can't not have this food. You have to come and try it. Anyways, thanks for watching Greg, and I'll see you in the next video gamers.
The teachers are incredible. They truly care about my children from all aspects (academically, emotionally, spiritually). They invest so much into my students and I'll never be able to thank this enough.

When my oldest was at public school, she was not being taught the best methods. In kindergarten they taught her to just guess at the word based on the pictures in the book. At ASCS they focus on phonics and breaking the word down to really READ rather than guess. Her reading ability has improved so much since we enrolled.

In first grade they are already learning the basics of fractions! Plus, there are plenty of opportunities for advance classes and STEM. I don't have kids at the high school yet, but I know they have dual enrollment classes the students can take to earn college credit before they graduate.
