I am a recent transfer student to Atlantic City High School and overall, my experience there has not been too bad. The things I do not like about the school is that it is too laid back. So many students are getting into the habit of misbehaving and continuing to do so because they know there will be no consequence. I hope this will change in the future because I do not believe this should continue due to the fact students will not learn from their mistakes if they are not aware that what they are doing is wrong. One complement I do have for Atlantic City High is their extraordinary guidance counselors. They are the most helpful people inside of the school, whereas at my previous high school, some students felt as if the guidance counselors did not care to help them with their problems. That definitely is not a problem at Atlantic City High Schools, they make you feel welcome and they are always ready to help.

ACHS is absolutely one of the greatest high schools in Atlantic County.
The teachers truly do care, the guidance counselors actually guide! The extra curriculars and the clubs are all fantastic.
The school is extremely clean, they have one of the most gorgeous libraries I've ever seen!
The security does have to be there. And I am glad for that. They do their jobs. But they develop good rapports with the kids. So it's very safe. So many people have a preconceived notion of what they think the school is.
I would highly recommend ACHS to any parent or student. The large group of ethnically diverse students is great, as they don't see one another as any different because of their race or religion. They see their friends. It is a public school; with a bit of a private school "family" feel
The only aspect of Atlantic City High School that I enjoyed was the people I met at the school and the overall diversity. Other than that the school was not great. Apart from a few teachers that cared the majority of teachers had no interest or enthusiasm in what they were teaching, the school was constantly making poor decisions like doing construction on the hallways during the school year which has left some teachers unable to come to school due to the dust it has created, and there was no sense of school spirit or pride.
