ACHS is absolutely one of the greatest high schools in Atlantic County.
The teachers truly do care, the guidance counselors actually guide! The extra curriculars and the clubs are all fantastic.
The school is extremely clean, they have one of the most gorgeous libraries I've ever seen!
The security does have to be there. And I am glad for that. They do their jobs. But they develop good rapports with the kids. So it's very safe. So many people have a preconceived notion of what they think the school is.
I would highly recommend ACHS to any parent or student. The large group of ethnically diverse students is great, as they don't see one another as any different because of their race or religion. They see their friends. It is a public school; with a bit of a private school "family" feel

ACHS is what you make of it. You’ll find friends with similar interests and you’ll have some fun at the school. Taking honors and AP classes at Atlantic City guarantees you a quality education and will definitely prepare you for college. The facilities could be better but that’s due in part to the misuse of funds by the administration. Take advantage of the vast resources, knowledge, scholarships, and opportunities that ACHS offers and you’ll definitely get into a great college and look back with both fondness and annoyance on your days at ACHS just like other high achieving students.
As a student in Atlantic City High School, there are a few flaws I noticed throughout the school year. The school lacks funding to provide students with a better learning atmosphere. The building is falling apart in minuscule ways like leaking ceilings and broken tiles on the floor. The faculty is decent. However, the education is sufficient. I do believe I am prepared for college thanks to my passionate AP and honors teachers. The school has good resources for students to ensure they know what to do especially for researching. I do believe the school provides a lack of school spirit when it comes to pep rallies or clubs.
