Atholton High School Reviews
Rating 3.86 out of 5 462 reviews
Atholton High School seems to value academic and club opportunities provided for students, there are many resources available for everyone. I would like to see more teachers adapting to students learning needs, just as teachers do with younger-age children. Continuing to support students even at a later age to encourage participation, problem-solving, etc. will help continue inspiring students in schools, and reflect through test, class work, etc. Additionally, change to meals is something I find to be a necessity. Students require healthy and sufficient meals in order to focus and grow stronger in their adolescent years, something the school system has attempted to implement through fruits and vegetables on the side, but while still serving small, poor-quality main course meals.
Atholton High School provides it's students with a wide range of courses such as AP, Honors, GT, and even courses at the county's college; a great opportunity. The ability to take courses about specific professions or even shadow professionals is great.
Atholton High School's advanced course teachers are all somewhat passionate about their subjects. You can hear it in their voices and in the stories they tell. They enjoy teaching. However, they fail to acknowledge their age group. Yes, they teach advanced courses, classes meant for college students; but they fail to acknowledge that their actual students are still somewhat children. I have never been explicitly on anything but these are things I feel a small handful of teachers need to hear.
Kids are only young once. Let them be alive just a little. Don't be judgemental of that. Don't give them loads of HW, and then preach 8 hours of sleep.
Still a fairly nice school overall.

Atholton is a great school. It is diverse and one can gain a lot of experiences from it. Although we have faced recent redistricting accommodations, it has lead our community to grow closer. Atholton is also reputable for their great clubs. They have an excellent student government association and great class officers. They also have a superb club called Be the Change, one focused on advocacy and spreading awareness of issues they’re passionate about within their community. The Be the Change Club at Atholton recently hosted a menstrual products drive and raised over nine-thousand products, with a majority going to a local organization that helps those in homelessness and poverty and with a small portion going to the high school itself; pads and tampons can be felt in the school bathrooms for students to use. Overall, Atholton is an outstanding school.
