I liked that there was a little bit of everything for every kind of student, whether it was education level or clubs. Your teachers are very open-minded and well-rounded individuals. You're given the opportunity to improve and take more challenging classes, such as IB courses. I definitely recommend the school and they are beginning to offer new programs through the academies of Louisville. The principle is very enthusiastic and genuinely cares about the school and students. There is such a variety of people and personalities. There is actual diversity in the school and all students are given the opportunity to improve and become more educated citizens. The school is located in a very safe neighborhood and students are able to go to nearby local restaurants and try new things.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending Atherton High School during the years 2006-2010. The teachers were very supportive and seemed to really care about their job and the students. I felt safe at this school and never had any issues with administration or faculty. I really loved the diverse culture of the students and the choices for foreign languages. I felt like the art and music departments (especially orchestra) were a bit neglected, though. I also feel like the library could have been utilized more with classes, during my four years there I never really needed to go to the library more than a handful of times. Overall it was a nice school, and if I were to go back in time to do high school over again I would still choose Atherton.
I really like how the school is open to many diverse cultures. People there are exceptionally nice, and I would recommend that school to any child and parent who wants their child to have the best education available. It is such a welcoming community! There are no groups or cliques that exclude you out of anything because everyone is in various groups. Everybody talks to everybody.
