Athena High School is a part the Greece Central School District, comprised of 17 schools in total. They offer a variety of subjects and clubs, which I have enjoyed much of. Also, I appreciate the diverse environment that fills the halls on a daily basis as it builds a sense of unity and comfort. Furthermore, those that make up classes, such as teachers and administrators, make my classmates and I feel welcome and that we belong in such an environment. On the other hand, we can change in the aspects of encouraging even more extracurricular activities as I feel as if we support sports more than any other activity.

What I liked about Athena high school was the change. Prior to Athena, I attended a catholic private school that I did not enjoy and dreaded going to every single day. Athena opened the door for many opportunities and allowed me to make a group of friends that I am forever greatful for. Also, my work ethic drastically increased in 7th grade when I transferred and my grades are one of the most crucial things to me because they set a foundation for my future and intended career path.
In terms of public schooling, it’s alright. It’s clearly a public school, but it provides the best it can. However, for being the “School of the Arts”, it doesn’t give much to it’s art department.
