At Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, I enjoy the size of the school; since it only contains around 700 hundred students with about 325 being high school, everyone knows each other and was able to form some kind of relationship. Also, although we are a small school we still had opportunities to build a team’s skill and teamwork in athletics, access to college classes, amazing cultural and math clubs, and science labs. However, even with all the great opportunities at LHA, there are areas where adjustments can be made. A few improvements that can be made are: more attention to the music and art clubs, parent involvement by simply communicating with the parents more frequently and in more depth, resources by communicating with different colleges from across the country, and scholarship tools. Similar to everything in the world, improvements can be made to better the school environment and academics, but Aspire Langston Hughes Academy is a good school with plenty to offer their students.

The environment is great for learning and the campus is quite smaller compared to other nearby schools, but the smaller size works in favor of the students and staff. I have noticed that students are able to easily grow a connection to their peers and get to know their teachers much better. Staff members also have the chance to learn about different students and see them grow as a person throughout the years.
Aspire Langston Hughes Academy is an aspire public school. The school starts from 6th grade all the way to 12th grade. I've been there since 6th grade and will be graduating from LHA this year. LHA is a small school and its not like any other high school in Stockton. All the students have to wear uniform (polo shirts and khaki pants), the schools sweatshirts and only have two days where we can wear jeans. Being at LHA is not all that great I wish I had left when I first had the chance, but my friends were all staying so I stayed. A good thing that I like about my school is that the teachers are very supportive and helpful when it comes to the students. The school also provides the high school students with college classes and students who graduate have the ability to graduate with your AA.
