The attentive response of the teachers, along with administrative staff and teachers who listen make for productive school days. I’ve benefitted from hands on learning & the offsite experiences, such as learning opportunities in my journalism class, and service hour opportunities.
AES values students as an integral part of their educational success. As juniors we are offered a trip to view multiple colleges across several states to gain knowledge and broaden our scope on what universities have to offer.
School is fun! We are encouraged to participate in dress up days, dance offs, homecoming festivities and special celebrations. Most importantly, I feel as though AES has taught me life skills that I can take with me wherever my journey leads me.

If I had not attended Ascension, I would not have been as well-rounded as I am now in regards to the arts, sports, and academics. Ascension never failed to provide all students with opportunities to explore new clubs, sports, and activities! The administration and teachers never failed to help their students reach for what they wanted to achieve!
Ascension Episcopal School provided a good environment for me personally. Though, I’ve been told that since I graduated it has changed entirely. It used to be an easy going environment in which students felt comfortable and encouraged in academic and athletic endeavors. Now, I’m told that they are annually drug tested through hair samples, dress code violations are far more important than actual issues within the school, and the environment is now somewhat hostile. It is very disheartening to hear that all of these changes have been made under new leadership. The school that I had attended is apparently no longer there. Though these changes may appeal to parents, they have made Ascension into a place that no longer involves laughter, learning, and community. The tightening of these rules will only encourage rebellious behavior and cause students to focus on things other than their studies.
