I had two sons attend Arroyo Pacific Academy (APA). One son had some learning issues; but his teachers took the time and effort to make him feel welcomed and respected. My other son had just finished his freshman year at a larger school in LA; but wasn't too enamored with the commute, so he wanted a school closer to home. He wound up transferring to APA where he, too, was welcomed and nurtured by a caring, compassionate, and very competent staff.
One might think that because APA is so small, it might not attract great teachers. I can attest that isn't the case at all! As a sophomore, my son just got "5's" on his AP Biology and AP Psychology exams!
The staff, teachers, administration are all top notch. If you have a son or daughter that may have learning issues or would just enjoy a smaller school setting where teaching is truly focused on the student, I would highly recommend you try out Arroyo Pacific Academy.

Arroyo Pacific Academy is a gem among the private schools of San Gabriel Valley.
Not as well known as many other schools, it rivals the best college prep schools in the area.
And with its latest building opening this September, new classrooms and a state of the art science lab will join computer & media labs, music and recording studios, and theater and gym.
It offers challenging AP courses and a curriculum that prepares the students
for acceptance at any UC campus.
Our son entered as a sophomore and just graduated with a diverse group classmates, accepted to great colleges. Along the way were traditional sports, class trips, a variety of clubs, and, a special bonus, opportunities for daily tutoring on campus.
Can't say enough about the caring teachers, and friendly environment.
The administration can handle anything, with efficiency and ease, and unlike so
many private schools, without the drama.
Check out this great school!

My daughter is in her second year at APA and we are very happy that we had made the right choice. The teachers care about the students and are always ready to help. My daughter has made many friends here, and she can’t wait to go to school every day. The principal especially is very kind and keeps his office door open for parents and students whenever we need to talk to him. My husband and I are very grateful.
