Beckman is a wonderful school; my memories of it come from different areas, but the element that I appreciate most looking back as a senior is its teachers. I have been blessed to learn from incredible educators who are knowledgeable and passionate about their profession, and experience in English courses during my junior and senior years have encouraged me to apply to college as an English major. Beckman's students are also both considerate and committed to studies: I've made many friends through soccer, clubs and classes who I love spending time with, and who also set great examples of joyful determination in school. Beckman is a great school: I give it four rather than five stars because sometimes, it has an environment which falls into either extreme category of obsessive or lackadaisical study. However, in my experience, there have been more good than bad memories that I can look back on now and in the future!

Arnold O. Beckman is a place where everyone fits in--figuratively, of course, because the school has to squeeze in the insane amount of students it takes in every year. Nevertheless, never has there been a more inclusive environment that I have encountered. A diverse student body of all the races and religions you could name, a wide-acceptance of out lgbtq+ students and an encouragement to come out for those still in the closet, and a diverse staff of kind teachers invested in the education of their students. There are a massive amount of clubs and activities. Academia at Beckman is part of the school culture--us nerds and geeks are right at home. And if you don't count yourself a nerd or a geek, never fear because our athletics are top notch (excluding a disastrous football team) and many of our sports teams boast division 1.
My experience with Arnold O. Beckman High School has been an overall great experience. Beckman excels at giving kids the opportunity to shape themselves into well-rounded students by promoting the four A's: Academics, Athletics, Arts, and Activities. The staff at Beckman goes above and beyond to reach out to students who may be struggling, especially the teachers. Although a public school, Beckman provides equal opportunity for all students thanks to the significant resources provided in each of the four A's. This safe, student-oriented, and fun environment is a great place for any kid to attend, no matter the background, intelligence, or success rate.
