ACP manages to combine the culture of a small, intimate school with the opportunities afforded by larger rivals. This might be because of ACP's history as the odd school out in our district, where you had to actually want to go to the school to attend.
That mentality has stuck with the student body through to today. Almost all of the students that attend ACP do so because they want to, not because they were zoned there. In fact, I was one of those students that chose to attend ACP, and I could not be happier.
ACP offers so many different clubs for science-related activities, which is my passion. If you ever wanted a biophysics club, or two astronomy clubs, here you go. The debate team is back-to-back-to-back state champions, and I fell in love with the team the moment I joined. And though most of the students here focus on science, the music and theatre programs put on strong performances and let their light shine.
Overall, ACP is an amazing, well-rounded school. Go if you can!

ACP-E seems very intimidating at first, but everyone is really all in the same boat. The teachers and staff encourage and push their students, and the counselors are always free and willing to talk. There is also a lot of opportunity to start new clubs or star in sports because of the size of the school. There are really no "groups" because the school is still relatively small, so every class is pretty close and intermingle despite their different friend groups. Tutoring is available everyday and teachers stay after to help their students. Overall, although ACP-E can be stressful, there are very good teachers, plentiful connections to colleges or internships, and a lot of opportunity. Just be sure to do your homework!
I attended Arizona College Prep from 7th grade to graduation as a high school senior. The motto has not changed once- it always stayed at "strive for the impossible and be extraordinary". This motto was upheld by the rigorous classwork and requirements to get in- a test and a following interview. As a result, the school was fairly small, which contributed to a very family feel. I took pride in being able to say that I attended such a prestigious school, and I felt welcomed and loved by my classmates. We all knew each other, even between grades. As I moved throughout high school, it was very apparent that the school's goal was to increase in size. As a result, the enrollment exam and interviews went away and more kids were enrolled. I saw less familiar faces in the hall and more pressure to be the very best. Classwork was not focused on mastery, but rather than excellence. As it stands right now, our school has over 1600 students in contrast to when I started in a school of 700.
