Archimedean Upper Conservatory is definitely a good school but it’s undeniably really hard. It’s good for being so hard because It really teaches you how to work through hard times even though it’s inevitable that you will sink very often. I cried for a majority of my time there from the overwhelming stress and work but the people there definitely made everything worthwhile. No one’s really left out to feel odd or different because the school makes It easy for everyone to come together and feel included. The small classes also make it really easy to meet new people because it’s only about 15 to about 25 people at most. The teachers are very much dedicated to their jobs and are really there for you when you need it. The school has its down sides of course when things get hard with academics and all that, but you’re definitely well prepared. It’s definitely a roller coaster being a part of Archimedean Upper Conservatory, but trusting the process is key
From my experiences at AUC so far, I can say that it is a right fit for certain students with interests in STEM. While there is a strong Debate team, a lot of the electives center around Mathematics and Science. As for the representation of music and arts at AUC,there is little emphasis on these classes relative to the attention for STEM. The workload at this school is challenging a lot of the time, making AUC a good school to prepare kids for college academically, but it sometimes goes too far to the point that many students leave, especially after sophomore year. With few students, classes are generally small, which allows me to interact and get to know my teachers more. I did feel that there was a certain form of bias against kids who weren't at the very top in terms of grades from some teachers and even administration. All in all, AUC is more favorable towards those who can deal with the work and if you survive the competitive atmosphere, you'll feel prepared for anything.
It is a very rigorous school. Students who graduate from Archimedean tend to excel in college, and the ratio of students going to top institutions is much higher than standard public high schools. Overall, the environment is quite safe, however the school focus is on STEM, leaving very little room for arts, humanities, and sports. This is certainly a demanding a competitive school built for students who want to succeed. There is a lot of work and the course load is quite heavy, which in turn results in higher test scores and well-prepared and disciplined students.
The food is pretty good. There is a salad bar and everything is very clean. The environment is very safe.
Overall pretty good for academic-oriented students, but not so much for those who want to excel in other areas.
