Unless your child scores in the top 10% on the entrance exam, they will be put in average performing classes for ALL subjects. So if your child struggles in one subject, but is above average in say English, ALL their classes will be will be the same level, unlike St. Thomas, where they actually customize the students classes based on to their academic capabilities! I have read several students and parent's comments as to why Theology/catechism is taught for the whole four years! You are enrolled in a Catholic High School. If you are not comfortable with it, then transfer over to a Public High School where God has been completely removed from the classroom!

AMHS is the best school ever! They take safety and academics as a priority. Everyone learns and participates in clubs, teams and the campus ministry. After viewing almost all Broward private schools, I am happy to say, McCarthy is the best in all aspects. I highly recommend AMHS to anyone!
Caring teachers, great environment, many learning opportunities. There are many different clubs and sports available to round out your high school experience. Several options are available to help struggling students and for those high-achieving students, there are additional, challenging classes, AP classes and dual enrollment opportunities. The school also emphasizes learning through club travel, and supports targeted PSAT and SAT prep. As an iPad school, there is excellent technology-based learning which prepares students for college and the workplace.
