I have been a student within Appoquinimink School District since I was in Pre-K. I finished out my high school career at Appoquinimink High School (Appo). Appo provided me numerous resources and opportunities that aided me with success. I was able to learn skills and information through the Allied Health’s Pathway rigorous courses. I was able to become CPR certified, take vitals, decode medical words, and take a Dual Enrollment course! These skills allowed me to work alongside and shadow medical professionals. Moreover, the teachers and staff at Appo helped equip me with valuable lessons & education. In addition, Appo’s diversity taught me how to collaborate with unique individuals. Thankfully, Appoquinimink High & Appoquinimink School District cares so much about their students. My senior year was ruined due to COVID-19 but they still found a way to celebrate our accomplishments & help encourage us to never give up.
I have grown up in the appoquinimink district and community and I have had nothing but a positive experience. The teachers and staff at school have always ensures a safe and comfortable learning environment. Along with the diverse environment promoting individuality, I always felt welcome and safe coming to school. I have participated in multiple clubs and sports while at school, and I have found the pride that comes with being a Jaguar is an overall amazing experience. The community is truly exceptional. Growing up in a small state and even smaller town unites everyone. It allows close bonds and relationships to form that will only continue to grow once one leaves Appo. I have met my best friends while in the district. As college approaches and we chose our own path in life I know I will always have the Appoquininink community to call home.
I enjoy Appoquinimink High Schools atmosphere, sports, curriculum and staff. I feel the school is run very efficiently and accommodates for all of the students needs. One thing I would change about Appoquinimink High School would be the rules and consequences for certain actions, I feel that the monitoring in the halls and the disciplinary actions are lenient of risky behaviors. I would introduce stricter rules, more teachers in the halls and more consistent consequences.
