This school has a great community of classmates and teachers. No matter who you are, you have an amazing opportunity to succeed academically and socially. ARHS is not overwhelmingly large, so I knew just about everyone who I graduated with. The covid pandemic happened during my junior and senior year, and our teachers during that time were very understanding and helped us succeed. Plenty of AP classes were offered that allowed me to get college credit and preparation. I had fun experiences with clubs and sports and made many friends. I wouldn't pick any other high school!
A very small town school, everyone knows everyone- which can be really great or really bad. Opportunity for growth is very limited in this high school, and in my personal experience it can be excluding and cliquey. The teachers I had throughout my high school experience are truly the only reason I was able to continue and persevere through this toxic environment daily. Additionally, the guidance department was very supportive and accommodating of their students.
Apponequet has very caring and vested teachers who want their students to succeed. I enjoyed being a student and playing athletics there. The building is really old and needs to be updated badly, but the technology is still pretty good. Lots of choices for electives and flexibility in scheduling. Overall a fun high school experience!
