Appleton City High School Reviews

The teachers here really care about their students and tend to go above and beyond to know them and help them personally and acadmeically. Unfortunately the district is underfunded and often under staffed. I had several classes taught by emergency last minute fill ins. When I went the math teacher kept getting pregnant and went on long maternity leaves so there was multiple teachers a year often before they let her go. Many of the teachers hold down multiple roles. The lady who was my fourth grade teacher was also one of my dual credit college teachers, ,my high school history teacher, my librarian, and our senior class coordinator. Powerful and kind woman. Our shop teacher was also my sixth grade social studies teacher and the track coach. The school let go of most clubs such as drama and choir. One year the school couldn't afford to print paper so most of our work were out of our notebooks instead of work sheets.
My experience so far at Appleton City High School has been very good. My favorite thing at Appleton City is art and ag class, because I am interested in those classes. My teachers are excellent and are willing to help out students who are willing to except help. There could be a few improvements to the school though, such as the English department and a full-time counselor. I would love to have full-time counselor because sometimes questions that only a counselor would know appear out of nowhere. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at Appleton City High School and will continue on with my education after I graduate.
My overall experience was decent. I was able to have incredible teachers throughout my educational journey, unfortunately many are not there anymore.
