AVHS has taught my how to come out of my comfort zone and engage in communication to expand my social self with others around me. I have learned great skills such as team work and problem solving all while keeping track of time. I am respectful and kind towards others and I believe school peers are meant to build each other up. Making connections with people from different cultures and backgrounds helps us to understand the world better. The teachers are always available whenever you need them and most offer after school tutoring which I have found helpful. There are books ready to be checked out of our library with tutors in the library if you struggle with a subject. Mostly everyone is kind and cool with you. All the staff is super friendly and the counselors are always willing to answer any questions you have regarding college or they can help you if you have an issue even outside of school. I highly recommend this high school!

Apple Valley High School has been an interesting experience for me. Their school pride is something to remember, to the point the staff constantly spams their motto of "Sundevil Pride is Contagious". As the years passed, I've began to notice that opportunities and care toward students gradually increased. Now with a new principal, the school is changing in ways I wouldn't expect. There's more strict methods and limitations on goofing up while spending resources to new clubs and programs. I've joined one this year in fact: it's called the Key Club, a club centered around community service. The school still needs improvement in terms of college preparation and education. Locking economics, government and other forms of education to seniors and seniors limit fair opportunities. Especially if there's students actively wanting to learn that, I honestly would've loved to learn about paying taxes and the constitution sooner. Overall, it's one of the better schools I went to, for sure.
I love the fact that the school has such great spirits, as generations of families attended the school, with most teachers being alumni or related. It gives a safe and comfortable feeling to the students as it makes them feel as if though they are part of a family.
The sports and clubs available at the school are very diverse, with at least three sports to choose from every season and more than fifteen clubs, all available to students to join and become part of the Sun Devil Community. Both the sports and the clubs seek to make students better, as activities such as volunteer hours and above a 2.5 GPA are required for participation.
There are also amazing pathways that students can choose from upon entering high school. From the medical academy MAHST, the technological pathway CAMP, vocal Sensations, as well as the Early College Program among other pathways, students are supported and placed in an environment of their choosing that allows them to work towards their future goals.
