Appalachian State has such an inviting and welcoming atmosphere that extends from the students to the faculty and even the surrounding community. It has such beautiful scenery that really works well with the school's effort to go-green with compostable bags, to-go plates, silverware, and their dedication to educating the public about efficient ways to be more eco-friendly without having to sacrifice so much green from your pocket. You will meet so many unique people from all walks of life, and learn things about yourself that you would never have learned otherwise. Overall, Appalachian State is a gorgeous place where anyone can thrive and become the best student, and individual that they hope to be, and I am excited for the next three years of my college experience here. I have attended Appalachian High School since kindergarten- a total of thirteen years! This school is surrounded by an amazing and supportive community which has made the experience one to remember. The school likes to keep tradition(s) which can have its drawbacks at times. For example, we are the only school in the county who still hosts a Parent-Senior Banquet for our graduates! This is a great time to honor those graduating and their parents whom helped along the way, but it can be stressful for those planning it. The school is very well-kept and the majority- if not all of the student body is very respectful and represent the school very well. The welcoming teachers add a touch of southern hospitality as soon as you walk through the doors. The inspirational quotes and art around the school makes the school more colorful and alive. I am truly grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend a wonderful school.
Appalachian High School is very dedicated to their students education. I moved here in the beginning of 8th grade. It was very hard for me at first, moving from a huge school to a smaller school, but the kind students and faculty made the transition a lot smoother. I feel like the teachers at this school help me out more than my other school. The teachers really care for the students future and help out the best that they can. Overall I am very grateful for the experience at this school. The teachers have pushed me to where I am today, making me realize my potential for the future.
