Relatively great school! The school is teeming with diversity and people from varied demographics, however there seems to be a mild lack of authority. Moreover, there is much to be desired when instructors scold their students for doing the very thing they were told to do. In addition to this, my sister is disabled and needs regular guidance, and yet she has been treated rather harshly - especially for someone with her condition.
Overall, the thing I enjoyed the most about this school was the arts, science and math programs. There are lots of clubs, so BE INVOLVED! Majority of teachers were good if you were involved in their lessons, and the art programs helped progress my skills more than i've ever been enabled before. However, the school is terribly crowded constantly to the point of being late to class because of the crowds of people on the staircases. As well as during lunches, a lot of the kids had to sit on the concrete outside (or stand), to eat their lunches. It wasn't as bad when they decided to open up a second lunchroom during my junior year. If you are looking to come to this school, I honestly recommend it. The administration isn't the best... but the teachers felt like friends, the memories you are going to create with football games and school spirit is amazing, and it's as close to a movie as you're probably going to get. I will forever be proud to bleed blue and white :). Go Darters!
At Apopka High School, I was a very involved student, and I feel that made my experience there 10 times better! I was a part of the dance, cheer, flag football, and track team, and also was a member of National Beta Club, Student Government Association, and National Honor Society. I kept a 3.7+ GPA all throughout high school and was awarded for my efforts at times. I recommend joining different clubs and sport activities as they allow you to meet more students and make friends. It also helps to get closer with the teachers and staff, as they will be more willing to help when you need it.
