This high school leaves much to desire in many areas. Better curriculum and teachers, early help with college plans, more clubs, better food choices offered at lunch, a safer school environment, and the list goes on. A major thing I wish to see change, other than the curriculum, is better support for mental health. So many times I wish I could reach out to someone who could offer support to me when I needed it, but that just never happened enough. However, the support staff who was there did help in some cases to ease me when I felt as though I couldn't stay in a classroom. I just wish that there were stronger programs in place to help those who feel like they can't function in a classroom at times. Other than that, I would like to also see improvements in opportunities and programs for students who excel in classes and want to pursue university.
Apollo High School is an overall pretty good school, but it does have a bad reputation. If people knew the truth about the school they would realize that it is really not a bad school. I like how the teachers and staff care about the students. The teachers and staff makes sure every student is ready to learn by providing a good hearty breakfast and lunch. Students get many options for lunch which is great, especially for students with different dietary needs.
Apollo gets a lot of hate in our town but it is a good school! I know because I am currently a student there. The teachers are always willing to give you extra help and are amazing. They offer many high level classes to prepare you for college.
