I owe a great debt to this school than I could even imagine. Teachers really care for their students, so much that they want us to do great in our grades and tests. They have supported our student-led political movements and have prepared students very well for the next step after high school. I would consider replacing one or two teachers who are really just torturing students with homework assignments. But overall, High school life will be 5x better for your child if the Arizona State Legislature would approve the bill for School funding! The Arizona Supreme Court recently removes this initiative from the Ballot so they are basically telling us that they do not support our children’s education. But anyways this school is way above average. School spirit outclasses the other schools in the District. If your child is Asian, white, black, Iranian, Mexican, Gay, straight, or bisexual, the students and staff will support you equally.

Apollo High School is a good place to be, this High School has so many things to appreciate. Much of those things, include core classes, dedication of instructors, and the multitudes of fundraisers etc. It's an enjoyable school but there's room for improvement. Topics in need of reconsideration for change are the following. The dress code. Much of the dress code, seems targeted, racists, and unfair. In addition, food opportunities, healthier food choices should be enforced. Even though, there's a lot to chose from, they're the same stands with the same plates of food everyday. Remember the healthy food and healthy salad bars that are not as implied. Lastly, the children who pay for meals , much of this does not fall upon the school; but the government. Many apply for reduced lunch/free lunch and those who don't pay a high price for a minimally nutritious meal. Paying $3.00 vs. another student who pays $1.75 for breakfast and/or lunch.
Apollo is a great school. There are many positive things about it; for example, it has great diversity in its students and teachers. It has a safe environment and excellent clubs and classes. Apollo's DECA team is internationally ranked, but its sports teams are pretty average. There are even a plethora of opportunities on campus for job experience. Some negatives about Apollo are how some classes are taught. Some teachers don't do a good job explaining their subject, so it's up to the student to figure it out themselves. Despite this, all of the classes can easily be passed if all work is done, students pay attention and are willing to come in independently for extra help, and put in a little extra time and effort to pass each and every class with flying colors. Additionally, the faculty and staff are friendly and obviously invested in the school. Overall, Apollo is a very good school, and it's positives outweigh any negatives.
