Apex Home School Enrichment Program Reviews

I really enjoyed the small class sizes and community feeling the school has. I also liked the idea of combining the social aspect of a public school and the freedom and control of home-school. Having said that, APEX is very Christian in nature and doesn't have a lot of diversity of people, topics, veiws, etc. This impeded my own acceptance of my LGBT+ identity and further isolated me from differing viewpoints. In addition, the range of students in the school is relatively small. I had difficulty meeting people my age (I entered in junior year of high school) as the majority of students are middle school aged and younger.

As a kid, being homeschooled is not easy. People ask you whether you if you have any friends and if you have any social skills. This really irked me because, one of my favorite things to do is interact with friends and teammates through school or sports. Unfortunately, because I am home schooled, I don't have this opportunity unless I purpose to pursue it. Apex Homeschool enrichment, allowed me to be able to do just that. It gives homeschoolers a taste of public school, while still allowing me a flexible home school schedule. Apex is a one-day school for homeschooled kids, we have classes, homework, dances, friends, talent shows, and more, but once a week, instead of five days. The rest of the week we work on homework, sports, or anything else in our homeschool curriculum.
