I only attended Antelope Valley High School for three semesters. In my previous high school I really wasn't so fond of going to school and I was lacking a couple of credits and had a couple of Ds'. My grades weren't so well. Once I arrived AVHS it was a new opportunity for me. They provided me with lots of academic help and enlisted me in a academic program with the the name of APEX. Though it was a struggle at first for me, I ended up completing all my missing credits and not just that, many of the Ds' I had turned into As' and Bs'. My GPA went up, I was enrolled in AP classes, and I with handwork I graduated on time. Not just that, this school has a lot of school spirit!

This was by far one of the most welcoming and fun experiences I have had the great pleasure to take part in in my life. The students were always funny, different and really made you scratch your head in the strangest of ways. The staff was always helpful and nice, but some teachers and office workers could use a good inspection/ firing or could use the jaws of life to pry open their depressing grins. But this was a fun place that i'll miss very much, there was always something interesting to find on campus that left a big mark on my heart. (in a positive way)
Antelope Valley High School has mainly African american students then it would be Hispanics and a little white. A lot of our students are disrespectful to the staff but few are really nice and respectful. Our textbooks are very torn and written in because there has been years of disrespect towards our textbooks, the only good ones are the ones we take home. We have computers and after school tutoring that we are allowed to use and attend and receive extra credit. Our bathrooms are cleaned every day but some of the students are foul and disgusting because they do not know how to clean up after themselves. The food is pretty decent because we have different choices if we do not like one. The staff is relatively nice except those that act like they have a stick up their but all the time. The best things are our football, track, and girls basketball programs because the coaches really take care of their players.
