The school environment is clean, and the staff are very friendly. There is access to a coffee bar, which is nice. The students have more freedom compared to the other high school in our area. However, we are given "enrichment classes" that I believe are a waste of time. Teachers advise students to do college work then, but because it is not totally enforced, it accomplishes nothing. I believe we could turn those periods into something fun yet educational.
Anson County Early College (ACEC) is the best school a student could ever attend. The staff at ACEC are all very welcoming, inclusive, and friendly. The best way to describe ACEC in one word would be family. The small environment allows staff and students alike to cultivate bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime.
I feel that this school is great for getting the students ready for college. But they lack when it comes to giving the student and actually "High School Experience." From the first day, you start at this school you are pretty much told that your academics come above all, no matter your mental status. If none of what I said above matters to you then this school will be a great choice for you or your child.
