Annunciation Catholic School Reviews

3 reviews
When we moved to DC and read the reviews on this and another site, we became a bit reluctant to send them there. But we did a tour of the school and the administrators addressed our concerns.
I can only say positive things about the school. Miss Morais, the pre-K teacher, was great with our child and went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate us when we had to get by with only one parent for a brief period. Miss Goldberg-Leard, the 1st grade teacher, was also superb. She was very professional, communicated about the lesson plans ahead of time, and was also willing to discuss our child's progress on the phone when we had questions. Moreover, our children spoke very affectionately about both teachers, and thoroughly enjoyed being in their classes. The staff principal were extremely helpful and professional, and I had only good experiences with the school.

The school has gone down in quality over the past few years, the past two being the worst. A majority of the qualified and dedicated teachers have left, and the curriculum is not as strong as it could be. As a parent, I would strongly recommend you do not send your children here because they will not receive the WHOLE education and the community is somewhat toxic.
I agree with the other review the school has gone in quality over the past few years and especially this year, we enrolled our kid in Kindergarten which was very good with a fantastic teacher but since then the quality and the dedication of the teachers went done. After 4 years we decided to pull our kid out in the middle of the year because it was too damaging for our kid to stay in this environment based more in punishment than encouragement. We should have made the move before.
