As it is my third year in this high school I can confidently say I am well acquainted with the campus' social and academic spheres. Rodriguez has a very diverse student body and many available clubs and sports. My highschool offers many advanced classes under the direction of skilled teachers. Overall, the school has an amiable atmosphere and is a place full of potential for students to fulfill their goals and hone their skills for the real world. If I were to change anything, it would be to offer more time for students to collaborate with their teachers in peers as classes become more rigorous. Any time for this sort of collaboration is usually limited to personal time outside of the classroom and very inefficient at times. Although, granted time management and priorities are responsibilities of students there should be a greater chance for students to work amongst their classmates and teachers.

So far, Rod has given me a decent high school experience. It’s a good school, everyone is nice; the staff, students, and teachers. But Rod has not lived up to my ideal high school. Rod claims to be a high ranking distinguished school, but it hasn’t been in more than 5 years. The honor classes I’m personally taking have teachers who don’t really teach and you have to make the effort yourself to understand what they want you to do. Going to Rod has made me feel bored yet at the same time stressed. Normal classes are boring and honor/AP classes load you with homework without much guidance. I don’t believe this school prepares you for college, but I’ll leave that opinion to someone who has graduated.
I love the diversity at Rodriguez! Student involvement, a principal who cares and teachers who take time to meet with you before or after school including lunches. My experience has been a positive one and I am thankful for the opportunities it has provided me.
