The school itself is a beautiful building! On top of that, the new freshman building is looking great as well. I LOVED being in the band program and was the star of my experience. However, academically it could use some work. Except my English and history classes, my other classes lacked something each. My math for example, from 9th-11th, I truly did not learn as much as I could have and for some reason I didn't have a teacher until my second semester. My Science class from 9th grade, was far from a learning environment. My 11th grade science class was always behind from the beginning and the teacher was hard to follow. My Senior year science class has a teacher that failed me for turning in a project a week early, so you can imagine how that was. But overall, my experience was not bad.

Dekaney is a diverse school that holds events and opportunities for kids going into all different types of careers. The teachers at Dekaney provide students with opportunities to make-up grades, and even extra credit! Dekaney has plenty of programs and events for students to prepare them for college.. The teachers at Dekaney really help me understand each new subject and the subject's-related problems; in order for me to calculate, and solve the problem for its solution. Dekaney has provided me with various opportunities relating to college and other prep-style classes such as dual-credit classes, college-prep courses and open houses, and even SAT-Prep classes! In conclusion, this school provides me with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and classes that I'm able to take advantage of that will prepare me for college before I graduate.
Dekaney is an fairly decent school. Most teachers are good at their job, but those who aren't are awful; there is no in-between. Teacher/Class relationships make classes unique and more enjoyable (again, only the good ones). Learning isn't very difficult as long as you pay attention. AP/DC classes have an academic rigor that requires responsibility but is not too demanding. Fights are common only among the people who don't know how to avoid conflict. Bullying isn't an issue at all.
