I'm an alumni and parent of two Analy students, and I am proud to have them there. The elective options opened their eyes to things they never would have tried on their own, which I think is the purpose of enrichment programs. Having that 7 period day makes enrichment classes more likely to be offered, gives a kid a chance to re-take a class if they had the misfortune of failing it the first time, and gives students a chance to re-take a class for a better grade...that happens too! That 7 period day benefits all students...on every end of the learning spectrum. Want to take 5 AP classes and 2 electives? Yes, do it with 7 periods! Want to just graduate, but stay happy and engaged at school because you can take Woodshop, ceramics and weight lifting? You can do that too.

Analy offers a great range of classes, especially with 7-periods, which allows kids to study not only the core subjects, but also pursue interests such as language, computer programming, music, art and more - something that was definitely something I found important in my own school experience. They also have some real innovative programs, such as Global Science, and Ag, which show me as a parent how committed the teachers are to expanding and sharing their expertise and passion for these subjects. Finally, their athletics is great and my son is enjoying his participation in sports.
Pretty meh. Doesn't have what I need or want in a school personally. The students are cliquey, the teachers are either super burnt out and don't want to be there or are super passionate about their job (there's no in-between so it's a real gamble), there is only 1 foreign language course offered and all students are expected to take it despite having the resources for another, the campus is old and falling apart, and the administration doesn't do anything. Once you find a nice group you can kind of tune it out, and there's some nice AP, but that's about it.
