Amy Biehl Charter High School Reviews
Rating 3.86 out of 5 44 reviews
Overall, ABHS was not very academically focused and spent much more time on community building to a fault. I am thankful for the relationships developed with staff but so many important academic standards were entirely missed. On top of that many negative relationships were fostered amongst peers. The admin of ABHS cares very little about the safety of students and puts more emphasis on forgiveness, which includes rapists and abusers. The staff is very close knit and they play favorites amongst students and have consistently protected people that do not deserve protection. Largely ABHS has a very toxic environment and I personally think most people would do better at a larger school or a more academically focused school.
Amy Biehl is a wonderful school for kids particularly interested in humanities and the arts. It’s a great culture and it’s in downtown ABQ. Being able to not only have the school as a community but also the city, is really amazing and a great experience. Of course there are downsides of the location and of the school, but the support you have from the teachers and fellow students is wonderful. They prep you for college and make you take college courses to help prepare you. I am really glad I have been attending for the last two years.
Amy Biehl Charter School is a very good school. It really helps prepare you for your future and will give a lot of opportunities to start your future early with being able to take dual credit classes and being able to do some service learning which will give you a lot of experience in working in a field of your choice.
