American allowed people to be free. It created an atmosphere that allowed students of all ethnic backgrounds to love themselves and find their true comfort zone despite the several challenges that being a teenager may bring. American Senior High School was and is a school that shows how having such a diverse setting can still allow students to prosper and take advantage of the different cultures that American Senior High is composed of. Now that I have graduated from American, and await for my new journey in Iowa at Waldorf college, I am hoping to bring the wonderful qualities and experiences that I gathered from American Senior High to help me prosper and grow in this new environment.

What I liked about American Senior high school was that the teachers were very nice, they were always available when you needed assistance with assignments or just a problem in general. The staff is also nice and attentive, and the education level is above average. But, the things that I would like the school to change is the facilities, the school needs a total renovation, the classrooms need new desks and chairs, new computers, better text books, etc. I would also like the school to give more opportunities to small clubs, and not just focus on sports like football.
This school offered an amazing opportunity for me to study aviation as a high school student at George T. Baker Aviation, also known as "Baker". As a female in the mechanical engineering field, it can be sometimes difficult to maintain focus on this industry since many male students can be discouraging. Yet, through the help and advice of the teachers at American Senior High, they would always help me stay true to my dream and career. The reason I rate 4 stars for my high school is that as an aviation student they never rewarded my academy in ceremonies. The students in my academy were rarely recognized for our accomplishments. Only through baker was I able to receive highly respected awards and certificates, even if it was for participation.
