American School Reviews
Rating 3.87 out of 5 30 reviews
I’ve been homeschooled my whole life, and I love it! American school is great due to the fact it allows homeschoolers to get actual diplomas. Whilst it’s great for 1 reason The course material is very challenging me and my two older siblings have taken this course, and it’s taken each of my siblings over 5 years to finish and we have friends who’ve taken this course and never graduated bc it’s so much work that’s very complicated.
For a home school student, American School was the best option for me. They send you textbooks, workbooks, test booklets, and provide a plethora of help websites and reviews online. The teachers are quick to respond to emails and calls, and leave helpful notes on tests. Awesome school!
I started with American School later in school year, but quickly managed to catch up because of their easy to use online system. Functioned well on browsers, organized, with many add-ins that helped a lot to track progress and plan study. The level was normal.
Most of the teachers are v. helpful, prompt to answer, genuinely interested in helping the students (esp. those in math-based courses).
Improvements: I feel, in the online system, the students should be able to move from one exam to the next, even if the teacher has not graded the last. It is a problem when one cannot keep going at their pace, and have to lose the rhythm, because many teachers grade slowly (because they have a lot to grade). This may be ingrained online and impossible to change, but worth mentioning.
I feel that at least the maths should be offered with a book included. Doing everything online for mathematics based courses isn't the same as for others, and would be vastly improved by the addition of a textbook!
