The arts programs there are top notch! From the theater groups including techies, the senior murals, and having the only traveling and preforming show choir in the state of Utah; ALA has it all covered. The academics are average for being a smaller charter school. The NetEd or live interactive classes from UVU however, are what drew me there. There were a dozen or so of my classmates that graduated high school with their diploma and an associate degree from UVU.

My Overall experience at ALA was great ! I was able to be on a sports team and meet a lot of my friends that I still have now. As well as get an education a little further than just highschool classes but college classes as well. I was enrolled in ap classes and I was able to learn how to write a good English paper and be better at math! Although the teachers were ok, the education overall is very well taught. I felt safe at this school and would recommend it to future students.
I moved to this school part way through the school year from Salt Lake City. The school REFUSED to take my sports credits as PE credits and counted them instead as electives. Additionally, attendance keeping is very poor. They attempted to put me in In-School Suspension, claiming that I had 37 days of absences when I did not. They wouldn't let my parents excuse my absences, and even said I was not in my class when my mother was on the phone with them, and that one of the Administrators had walked into class to check that I was not there- both claims were false. My mother called me and could hear the Stats teacher lecturing in the background. The teacher had to go in and tell them in person that I was present. Sometimes, the roll is even taken in a totally separate classroom. For example, on A days I have an online class in the Academic Lab, but on B days I'm in the Stat's teacher's classroom- yet roll is still taken in the Academic Lab.
