The good, the true, and the beautiful are all exemplified through Ambleside's focus on Christ-centered education. The literature based curriculum has a high regard for original work, challenging language, and ideas that stimulate imagination. Short lessons focused on attentive work rather than just mindlessly filling out worksheets leaves time for nature studies, handwork, and time spent outdoors. One of my favorite details is the educational atmosphere free from the distractions of technology. Ambleside is not a religious school that gives lip service to building character, it is deeply ingrained in the Charlotte Mason philosophy. Virtue is taught through reading rich texts about people both real and imagined. Through this, children learn that virtue is more than an honor code vowing not to cheat. It is something to be strived for in even the smallest details of life, everything from having a good attitude about an unwelcome task to seeking to resolve conflict between classmates.
Ambleside School is a Christ-centered school committed to providing a Charlotte Mason “living education.” In partnership with the family, they guide and empower each student to think with the mind of Christ and to author a life rich in relationship to God, self, others, ideas, and all of creation.
I see my grandchildren are happy, kind little boys. The education is superb! The community is friendly and caring.

We love Ambleside because it is a safe place where we know our children are being nurtured and cared for by teachers that love teaching and love Christ. We have also come to believe that the teaching method that Ambleside employs is the most excellent available.
The Charlotte Mason teaching methodology, which Ambleside uses, is unlike anything we have seen, and it is superb. Our children are not treated like information receptacles, sitting in desks eight hours a day to be stuffed with as many facts as possible, all towards the great, universal goal of increasing test scores. No, Ambleside is totally different. From the earliest age children at Ambleside are exposed to great and important art, literature, music, and ideas. They are not just taught about these things; they are taught the things themselves, by being fully immersed in them. They grow not simply in their knowledge of facts, information, and formulas, but as full humans, with minds and souls that need to be fed.
