I am a parent of a kindergarten student. I have been completely impressed with Alturas. The teachers I have had experience with so far are amazing and have been very receptive and helpful throughout the school year. They have gone above and beyond all expectations on helping to teach from home. I am really so glad we chose to send our child to Alturas!

Great teachers who genuinely want to see their students succeed. Administration limited in ability to successfully provide rounded support that addresses students overall needs, including access to school counselors. Administration has limited knowledge of how to create appropriate environment for their students when additional services are needed.
I really like the project-based learning approach. It used a heavy emphasis on writing, research, and reading.
The culture was not caring, or welcoming, at all. Teachers are not trained and lack a strong leadership role for support.
