    Alto International School Reviews

Alto International School is small international school in Menlo Park, CA. They follow the International Baccalaureate program, which is a holistic program that looks at students not only from academic perspective, but also self-reflection and their place in society. Projects are often done in groups and subjects are learned holistically in combination with multiple subjects, e.g. new math concepts are applied on a science project, or new language concepts are applied in history. We have two kids in school, one entering MYP (Middle Years Program) and another one moving into to the higher level of the same program, 9th grade, which would be considered High School. Our kids have thrived in this school and we'll make our best to have them through completion until they achieve the DP (Diploma Program), which comprises the last two years of High School. Students that graduate with a high score in the DP program often outpace heir counterparts in High School with AP classes.

A comprehensive, integrated and accredited International Baccalaureate school (K-12) that provides a holistic, diverse and bilingual learning environment through an interdisciplinary approach and integrated inquiry-based learning. The IB program is internationally recognized and the high school offers the DP program (grades 11 - 12) that leads to the prestigious IB diploma.
I was a student at GAIS since preschool years, enjoyed elementary years and really loved being in middle school at GAIS, now ALTO. GAIS/ALTO has 2 unique features - 1. the IB program from primary years through Middle school and since couple of years even offering High School and the opportunity to do the IB Diploma. 2. GAIS offers the opportunity to be thought subjects in German, which I think is pretty unique and a great way learning another language besides French or Spanish. It’s an international s hool as well with about 30 different nationalities. I just loved the variety of the different cultures and how they all blend together in one big family like group. In short, GAIS is an awesome school, even they changed their name to ALTO which means STOP in Spanish and what in my opinion is absolutely not what this school represents. This school rocks and everyone who ever attended, feels this deep bound between the school and their families. I am grateful for this experiance.
