This school has been such a great experience for our family! Two of our children have graduated from Althoff Catholic and another is on her way. Our oldest kids received a great education that set them up well for great colleges and one with great scholarships too.
My kids are FAR from being star athletes and no football players here. However the head football coach happens to be one of my kid's favorite teachers. Still, we have not experienced anything but great support for our kids and family from soccer teams, bowling team, drama, and other activities.
Great teachers and principal here! To us, that's the biggest reason to choose a school since they are spending the most hours with our kids. I want teachers that will support but also challenge my kid just as much I do. No place is perfect. It just really feels like family here for us.

Althoff is a mixed bag. The teachers really do care about you, and the small class size is definitely a benefit. However, while I attended, the building itself was in disrepair, and nothing was done to fix it. For a whole semester on the third floor the ceiling was leaking this gross brown liquid, but they just put a wet floor sign up and a trash can under the leak and did nothing. In the theatre "shop," where students in the drama club would paint and make sets for the plays, the sink in the corner, where we were supposed to wash paintbrushes, was clogged all four years there. We had to wash out brushes in a moldering bucket and regularly take it outside to dump it. Yet, the year after I graduated, they poured money into a football stadium. Also, even if you weren't Catholic or religion, you had to attend theology class (and often write about your "Catholic experience" and attend church every Wednesday.
The school overall is a excellent place to learn. The staff is very helpful and caring. The diversity could be better, this is in regards to the staff and student population. However, it seems as though the administration knows this and are making steps to help diversify the school. Though, they are typically a sports school they have a excellent drama and music department.
