Dealing with complications in high school was a major set back and led me to enrollment at The Phoenix Academy. At one point graduation seemed like an unattainable goal, but hard work and dedication gave me the hope I needed to change my life and defy my own odds. The Phoenix Academy helped me to recognize my strengths, talents, gain major life skills, and get more involved with my community. Now, my trials and tribulations have become my testimony and helped me realize what I want in life: an education and career path to be an example for my children, siblings, and young people with experiences similar to mine. I have chosen to pursue teaching. My greatest hope is to inspire, empower, and strengthen young kids that may be battling with depression.
