Alliance Gertz- Ressler High School is and amazing school. There are a lot of people that support you and make you feel welcomed. They are aware of teaching students about college and giving them information about what colleges offer and experiences. The staff at Gertz do everyhting they can to make students feel confident and capable of accomplishing their dreams. The people from Gertz are always there for you, they are aware if you are doing good or bad in classes, they offer us help in anything educational or personal, but most of all they give us their love and support. Alliance Gertz- Ressler High School make us feel like they are family, they are our second parents, always looking out for our safety.

Due to an administration change that happened in 2016, the school has been in disarray with funding and staffing. Many teachers left including the entirety of the arts staff (and the school had just bought a new building for the arts in 2020) and since then there hasn't been much done to remedy it. There are issues in the main office with staffing and there is a lack of college counselors as well. There has also been an issue with resources into the math and sciences and even though the school advertises excellence in math and science it has neither. There is very little help with both and the tutoring is just students sitting in a room doing nothing. The math department is severely underfunded and there seems to be no access to tutoring that actually helps in the higher maths (such as pre-cal, calculus, and AP Calculus). There is, however a hearty English proficiency with the English Department being the best in the school and a decent array of AP courses.
My experience in Gertz Ressler High School so far have been excellent because they have taught me to become a better person. They have prepared me to have a good college experience, not everything we think about college is negative. I have been taught that college helps you learn that you are capable of anything only if you put your mind into it, knowing that you can do it even if it means overcoming obstacles. I have had support from teachers, staffs, and counselors, helping me overcome obstacles that I may think I couldn't accomplish, giving me advice to make me a better person. I still have a long way to go, but with the help of the people I am surrounded by in Gertz, I know I will always stay strong and fight for what I want.
