There are variety of clubs over the span of the school year. There are official school clubs/organizations and there are student made extracurricular clubs as well. Some student made clubs include the Gay-Straight Alliance, Photography Club, and Anime Club. Commitment for each club varies with what needs to be done in the club. The business classes have a very in depth commitment to the DECA competition and many people compete in it as well. The most popular after school activity, and the best, would have to be band! The band puts a lot of effort and receives a lot of support from teacher and administrators. Overall, the extracurricular clubs are great!
Review Alexis I. duPont High School
Second year in, and it's been good so far. The teachers are great and very knowledgeable, I can't say so much about all students. We have levels for each class there's College Prep, Honors, Advanced Placement(AP) & college classes that are from the Early College Academy that is provided from Wilmington University. I'm in the Early College Academy & it's a good program, I have learned so much from being in it. I participated in Field Hockey, and Soccer. I'm in BPA competitions, Science Olympiad, Math Leagues, Band, & college classes. I believe it's a good school. It would be great if the school is more strict on students, some students take advantage of the teachers here & I don't like it. It'd be great to have an environment where you can have intellectual talks with others than talking about drama, & unrelated things. I would recommend this school, because despite (some) students, the teachers, & the school are great!
The teachers at this school are the reason I am still in school and doing well in class. One teacher in particular stood up for me and put me on the right path of going into a computer related field. Many of my teachers are involved with the students and will listen to any claims they have and try to adjust their plans to compensate for all the students. By compensating I mean they will change their plans so each student will be able to learn with their maximum potential and be able to understand material. The teachers love to see when graduates message them and telling them how successful they are now thanks to the education they provided. The teachers are what make my school great! I will continue to support them and keep in contact with them even in the coming years.
