Alexander Hamilton High School is a public school that has been judged based on the outside. As a freshman I was unsure that I would fit in amongst diversity and culture. Being a latina and expressing my roots of latin culture has made me feel secure. Now, as a current junior, I am fortunate to attend a school that not only embraces diversity and culture but the importance of our academic programs such as the small learning communities, the SAS program and the magnet program (Humanities and Music Academy). We have a diverse student body, senior and junior class. We have clubs and organizations such as the Black Student Union, the Latino Student Organization and Desi/ASA. Sports and classrooms are surrounded with ethnic backgrounds. Most importantly, our faculty members such as guidance/college counselors, teachers, etc. Being at Alexander Hamilton High School has allowed me to explore resources offered such as the UCLA After Program, EAOP and Fulfillment Fund.

Alexander Hamilton High School introduced me to many unique teenagers. Everyone at this school has their own style and a twist to their interests. It is inspirational to see so many teenagers with dreams and hopes for the future. Hamilton has a variety of communities and two amazing magnets, so you are bound to find someone with a spark (aside from yourself of course ;p). Speaking from an Associated Student Body Vice President point of view, make sure you get involved with this school if you attend it. Hamilton has around 60 clubs that range from culture/ethnicity to social identity to activism/politics to just plain old relaxing. In order to feel a bit of school spirit, join some of these clubs. Get out of your shell a little and meet some folks!
Hamilton high school has gone downhill. Up until 2018 it was a great school with an amazing arts program but after 2019 it was terrible.Current Administration is extremely disrespectful to students. My Son was subjected to the rudeness of AMPA staff for 3 years. Their math program is terrible and will set your child back in college. Along with this students are reckless, there’s always fights or bullying going on. The lack of supervision allows for this to continue and students do not get penalized. This is also not a good school for sports but I commend their dance department for always being spectacular and for creating a safe space for my son amongst the chaos. Overall: subpar academics, okay performing arts, a lot of rude/uncaring staff.
