Albertus Magnus is the catholic high school in Rockland County, New York. Albertus creates a sense of community with its students making them all feel important. The teachers know everyone by name even if they have never taught them. With the student body being around 500 students you will never feel like a nameless face in the hallway. Although Albertus is considered a sports orientated school, it also prepares its students immensely for their future. Albertus offers many advanced classes to prepare you for college. Students are very active in clubs, nobody in Albertus is "an 8 to 2 er" as our old principal Mr. Troy use to say. All students do community service which teaches us to appreciate what we have. Many students go on to play in college after they have successful seasons in their sport at Albertus. Albertus not only creates a sense of unity within the school but in its surrounding community. At Albertus everyone truly believes that they belong here!

Coming into Albertus from a public school it was a very big change, however I have never regretted my decision. One of the main things I like is how anyone can get involved in almost anything. A huge majority of the student population plays sports, which makes that an easy way to make friends as an incoming freshman. Overall the environment is very good, the teachers are helpful and really care about the students, always willing to help out. The only real complaint I have about the school is that the student tend to be very clique. A lot of this stems from kids coming from different schools and already having friend groups coming in. But I will say that the school works on this issue very well by doing activities and retreats with freshmen to get them to branch out
My overall experience at Albertus has been tottaly different from a lot of other kids in the county that go to public school. First of all I hate saying I go to school because Albertus is more like a home. Everyone at Albertus is truly an extention of family. I personally participated in sports and clubs at Albertus. What impacted me the most was defiantly the soccer team I can reflect back and look at all the things it has tought me like hard work, dedication and sportsmanship. I also have gained friends that I will have for a life time. My most favorite thing at Albertus is my relationship with a bunch of my teachers. We are able to laugh and joke around but also I feel comfortable telling them things. Overall the minute I stepped into Albertus at open house I knew it was the place for me. I was overwhelmed with the sense of community, family and spirt. I will always be AM!
