The teachers are for the most part incredible, but I will say that the administration is lacking. They have very little follow through and favoritism is definitely a factor. Resources are lacking and most of the text books date back to the early 2000’s. The band program is struggling to stay afloat and the county pays little to no attention to this school and classes are also lacking, the only foreign language you are able to take is Spanish, though I know of many other students who desire to take something such as French or Italian. Overall this school is okay, the new faculty is trying their hardest to change the impression of the school but without the proper motivation these high school students will never try. The school needs to give them a reality check and tell them if they do not shape up then they will be working at a McDonald’s for the rest of their lives.

What I like most about Albemarle High School is the clubs and sports . What I would like to change about the school is the guidance and teacher involvement with the students . They guidance is little to no help when it comes to getting the seniors ready for college . The teachers don’t teach to the class, they just assign assignments on the chrome book and you have to figure the work out on your own using the chrome book.
Overall I think that Albemarle High School is a good school I just think that the only main problem is that some students don't care about their school work, grades and they kind of ruin it for everyone else. But for the most part there is a bigger percent of the students that do care and that do try. Another problem that we have is that we don't have enough resources or enough administration meaning we don't have many academic/elective classes to choose from.
