Albany Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.49 out of 5 47 reviews
I had a good experience here. There are a lot of classes to choose from and many diverse areas of study. For the most part class sizes are small and teachers have personal connections with students. The administration is helpful and willing to work with you on any problems that might arise. I feel that Albany has prepared me for college. The school itself is newly renovated and has a new auditorium and gym space. The school environment is pretty welcoming, but the student body is not diverse.
There are many teachers here who care about your education. Especially in the History department. The school has recently updated its facilities, allowing for growth in academics, arts, and athletics. The community is very invested in the high school, which helps support the school in general. There are many college courses offered that you can take at the school. I personally gathered 24 credits for free over two years.
For negatives, there are a few. There is practically no diversity in students, course offerings, or staff. Albany is a very conservative town. I heard stories about a muslim family who moved into town and got threats so they had to leave. In my graduating class, there maybe 7 BIPOC of 132 students. I can't recall a single teacher who wasn't white. As for course offerings, they are great in terms of STEM, but if that isn't what you care about, there is basically only english and history electives. If you are white, this is a great school, otherwise, good luck.

Easy to make friends, very friendly kind people, kinda teachers and fun classes. The teachers are all passionate about there work and work hard to give everyone the best education they can
