Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls Reviews
Rating 3.37 out of 5 123 reviews
My experience with Albany Leadership Charter School For Girls was great. The school does a great job with focusing on the students academics. Since the classes are quite small, the students are able to engage more with their teachers and be receive assistance from their teachers quickly. The school preps girls to be college ready, and encouraging them to take college course classes and advanced placement classes. The staffs are nice, and the environment of the school is chill. Although this school seems great there are things that they can improve on, they should hire more teachers, create more clubs and sports. Increase their afterschool tutoring time for students who need additional help with work. And lastly foster a more safer environment for students and learn how to be able to discipline students who are disturbing classes in any circumstances.
I wish that this was a better establishment. It has good intentions but the administration refuses to take actions that would eliminate the main problems.
Teachers are overworked and have to meet expectations that never follow through.
Students generally do not respect the teacher's authority, nor administration's authority for that matter.
There are very few extra curriculars and a huge gap in diversity.
It's an alternative option to the public schools in Albany, Troy, and Schenectady but it's not much better.

(the middle school) When I first came to the school, I loved it and had no problems. After I attended for two months I started to have a few problems. First, most of the girls have literally no respect for any of the teachers and staff, and sometimes in class, almost ever day the girls are arguing with the teacher. In the middle school, there is a HUGE gap in diversity which lead to me being laughed at because of my race, which really hurt bc I never grew up seeing color but now that I have been made fun of for it, made me realize how some people are. One thing that I kinda miss about my other school is all of the sports and clubs. There is basketball and there used to be volleyball but thats it. Whenever there is a fight, the staff is always breaks it up and does their best to make sure everyone is ok. For music class we don't do anything except for a worksheet. Overall I love my friends and the teachers it's just the girls who have no respect that kinda ruined the school for me.
