I loved having the freedom to take what I was interested in! I thought that the school has changed a bit since I started going there. When I went, it was hard work, but I learned a lot. I would recommend this school if you are a self starter, who will challenge yourself to learn. My favorite aspect was that it was a small school so I got to know all of my peers better.
I was a student many years ago here and would NEVER send my child to this school. Yes, the school is great academically but they cannot see past that. A student need options in these four years: sports, drama, arts, etc. ASTI presents NO support in these activities. Student-athletes should not consider this place. Since I graduated, the population has grown more white than mixed and the staff here harassed me more than my peers. I felt left out, judged, and neglected as a POC. They only care about "star" students and if you are struggling usually toss you to the corner. We had some students who left due to terrible LGBTQ+ and mental health support. I would recommend AP classes at a regular high school or another charter school. Unless your child can remain quiet and be a teacher's pet, let them grow somewhere else.
*Also, young girls beware as this is a junior college campus. Had multiple run-ins with older men trying to connect or stalk us with staff barely helping.

Very diverse school with a majority Asian population, homework is manageable most of the time, friendly people, and good teachers except for the math teacher.
